 This process is simply an Aeroderivative gas turbine that has been mounted on a frame. The gas turbine may have a single shaft or split shaft design. The single shaft design is a direct connect (turbine to generator). The split shaft design uses two turbines. The 1st turbine drives the compressor and the second turbine drives the generator. These frame mounted units range from 3 to 350 Mw in a simple cycle configuration with efficiencies ranging from 30% to 43%. |
